DAY 2 OF 3

When we buy something new, we generate expectations. A new cell phone, an appliance or a bicycle. The problem is: sometimes we have to learn to handle it before using it, and in those moments, there is nothing like a good manual. Be honest, between us, who really reads manuals? It's much easier to explore the “new phone" and find out by yourself how it works.

The truth is that sometimes our pride, laziness, arrogance (call it whatever you want) can end up resulting in a broken clock, a dismounted bike, or a cell phone that no one knows how to use. Every manual was meant to guide the steps, to teach us not only what should be done, but how it should be done.

That’s what happens in our lives. We want to explore and discover, to touch life, things and our feelings. The choice to use the manual is ours. God has given us a manual filled with directions, advices, and rich examples. He gave us a handbook detailing who we are and how we should build our lives. The Bible is our guide, it directs us and enables us to do what is right, the right way, at the right time.

Imagine yourself in the dark, without seeing anything, not being able to see if there is a hole in the ground or an obstacle in front of you. From the moment you turn on the light of a lantern to guide you, you begin to feel more confident walking. You can already see where you stand. You, who did not know where to go, now know exactly what to do. The Bible teaches us, gives us direction when we are in the dark, helps us to keep taking the right steps, and shows us which direction to take.

Do not hesitate on reading the most incredible manual of all, the manual for the soul and for life. May the Bible always be the light of your path.
