Wise GuysНамуна
Be wise. Learn from leaders.
Guess what? There’s a lot to figure out in life. Guess what else? You don’t have to figure everything out by yourself! No one does. That’s why God gives us godly leaders to help us. The Bible encourages us to listen and do what our fathers and mothers tell us. Even if your parents don’t give you godly advice, you can learn godly wisdom from the other people God placed in your life—like aunts, uncles, grandparents, teachers, small group leaders, and other trusted leaders.
Sometimes, you’ll want to ignore, disobey, or even get a little pouty when your parents get on to you or tell you to do things differently. But, when you choose to accept correction, you’ll grow in wisdom!
Watch the video, then use the Bible verse Proverbs 1:8 to Draw Together. It will help you remember to listen to your parents or other trusted leaders.
Draw Together
1. Get a piece of paper and something to draw with.
2. Write the Bible verse, Proverbs 1:8, across the top of the paper.
3. Work together with a friend to draw a picture about Proverbs 1:8.
4. Put the picture on the wall so you can remember it!
Talk It Over: What makes you want to ignore, disobey, or pout at your parents or leaders? How can you learn to accept advice or correction even when it doesn’t feel fun? What will happen to your attitude when you do? What will happen to your wisdom when you do?
