Hearing from God in your Tent 

God speaks to us in different ways and in different places. Sometimes it’s through a preacher in a church service, sometimes in a connect group or small group, and sometimes through a close friend. These places are all great, but there’s one more place we should never neglect seeking Him – in the solitude. There is so much value to blocking out the noise and the distractions, and searching for His specific words intended for you.

When we open the Bible and pray, we are literally opening a dialogue between ourselves and God. We hear the words and the heart of Jesus and it allows Him to interact with our life and help guide us, shape us, challenge us, and encourage us.

We all love group catch-ups and fun events, but true, lasting relationships are built with one-on-one time. As Young Adults who are working or studying and hopefully don’t have an 8pm curfew like our younger siblings, we have the perfect conditions to seek Him with our whole heart and to find Him in the secret place. Don’t waste a single moment! My prayer for you is that we all find some time to get off the grid and go one-on-one with God. No agenda, no borders, no rush.

Prayer: God, we thank You that not only do You speak to us in the big events, in worship or within small groups, but that You also love to speak to us in the still, small moments of life. We pray that You would speak to us and reveal more of Your plan and purpose for our lives. Amen.
