Joy In Serving: Devotions From Time Of Grace Ministryనమూనా
My Church: Use your gifts
Years of TV watching have made most of us a passive audience of the performances of others--music, acting, sports, politics. How dreadful if God’s army of royal priests prefers to watch a few “church professionals” while imagining that they have nothing to offer.
You may never play in the NBA or NFL, but you most certainly have a role in bringing blessings from God to the people in your life. Not only are you surrounded by opportunities for sharing God’s love, you also have been given unique gifts that make you useful to God’s agenda.
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms” (1 Peter 4:10). Let no Christian ever say, “I’ve got nothing.” St. Peter states that all believers have gifts, gifts intended by God to be shared. Romans chapter 12 gives some examples to get you thinking.
Not sure what yours are? Do two things: ask a friend what he or she thinks you’re good at, and then have a conference with yourself and determine what you’re really passionate about that could help somebody else. That passion may be the Spirit’s clue.
