No matter where we find ourselves now in life, it presents us with a unique mission field, our campuses, workplaces and neighborhood. Paul’s words in Ephesians remind us that our mission is not just about academics or social life; it’s a spiritual journey where we are called to stand strong against anything that comes our way.

In Ephesians 6, the writer Paul encourages us to be strong in the Lord. This strength is not something we muster on our own; it comes from a deep and personal relationship with Jesus.

Paul instructs us to put on the full armor of God. Each piece serves a purpose:

• Belt of Truth: In a world of multiple narratives, we need to stand firm in God’s truth.
• Breastplate of Righteousness: Guard your heart by living according to God’s standards. To live a life set apart and Holy.
• Shoes of Peace: Be carriers of the good news of Jesus Christ wherever you go.
• Shield of Faith: Trust in God’s promises to overcome the doubts and fears that come your way.
• Helmet of Salvation: Keep your mind focused on the hope we have in Christ.
• Sword of the Spirit: Use God’s Word as your defense and offense in spiritual battles.

Paul urges us to pray in the Spirit on all occasions. Prayer connects us to God, aligning our hearts with His mission. It equips us to face spiritual battles, intercede for others, and seek guidance in our daily lives.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for equipping me for the mission You have placed before me. Help me to put on Your armour daily and stand strong in faith. Guide my words and actions so that I may reflect Your love to those around me. Empower me through prayer to be a light in my campus and my community. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflection: As you go about your day, remember: that you are not alone in this mission. God’s mighty power is with you, and His armour is ready for you to wear. Embrace your calling as a disciple of Jesus on a mission!
