How to Keep the Fire Burningనమూనా
Sometimes, God uses others to help ignite our passion and renew our commitment to Him.
We may be inspired by a friend, a church service, or a challenging life event that stirs something fresh within us. But while others can spark our faith, it’s our responsibility to keep it burning, nurturing it with daily habits and intentional actions that bring us closer to God.
In Acts 28, it was the islanders who started the fire for Paul and his companions. Yet, to keep it alive, Paul gathered sticks and fed the fire, showing us that while others may ignite our faith, we are ultimately responsible for keeping it going. In the same way, God might use a sermon, a friend’s testimony, or a life event to stir our hearts, but this initial spark won’t last without our effort and intention.
Developing consistent habits—daily prayer, Bible reading, and times of worship—keeps our fire alive. Each act of faith is like adding a log to the flame, sustaining and growing our connection with God. Just as Paul took responsibility for gathering sticks and keeping the fire going, we, too, are called to do our part. Life’s distractions can pull us away, but these regular, intentional actions fan our faith. With every “log” we add to our spiritual fire, we draw closer to God and keep our hearts passionately pursuing Him.
Let's pray:
Lord, thank You for the moments when You use others to spark my faith. Help me to keep my fire alive through faithful prayer, reading Your Word, and choosing each day to seek You. May I draw near to You daily and let my passion for You be strong and steadfast. Amen.
