Never Alone: Discovering Joy and Contentment in Singleness

DAY 2 OF 5

Contentment is a word we often hear, but truly grasping its meaning can be challenging—especially in a world that constantly tells us we need more and should seek the next big thing. For many single women, the world suggests that marriage is the ultimate goal, the answer to loneliness and discontent.

However, marriage won't fill the void that only Christ can. If you enter marriage with a heart of discontentment, expecting your spouse to fulfill you, you set yourself up for disappointment. In this season, contentment begins by recognizing the fullness of life in Christ.

Christ is the only one who can truly satisfy your heart. When you focus on Him, you realize you are already complete, lacking nothing. This doesn't mean the desire for marriage is wrong, but it should not be your source of contentment. By learning to be content in Christ alone, you prepare yourself to bring a whole and healthy heart into any future relationship.

Think it Over

Spend time in worship today, focusing on the attributes of God that bring you comfort and joy. Let His presence fill the spaces where discontentment might dwell.

Prayer

Lord, help me to find my satisfaction in You alone. When I am tempted to look for fulfillment elsewhere, draw me back to Your love. May I be fully content in Your presence, trusting that You are enough for every season of my life. Amen
