Day 2 - Your Heavenly Father

The Greatest News You’ll Ever Hear

The most amazing truth anyone has ever shared with me is this: God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to save me from my sins. And the most important decision I’ve ever made was to accept Jesus as my personal Savior.

There’s nothing more comforting than knowing for sure that I will go to Heaven when I die—and you can have that same assurance.

If you’ve never accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, you have the opportunity to do that today. Your decision about where you will spend eternity is the most important choice you will ever make—and it’s the first step in overcoming your fatherless journey.

CHALLENGE:

You didn’t choose to be fatherless, but now you have the choice to begin a relationship with your Heavenly Father, the One who will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

The first and most important step on your journey is making sure you know Jesus Christ personally. God wants you to find rest, hope, and identity in Him.

John 3:16 (NKJV) says:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Here are a few key verses that explain how you can begin a relationship with God:

  1. Romans 3:23 (NKJV) – “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Everyone has sinned—we’ve all fallen short. Admitting this is the first step.
  2. Romans 6:23 (part a) (NKJV) – “For the wages of sin is death…”
The result of sin is eternal separation from God—spiritual death.
  3. Romans 5:8 (NKJV)– But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Because of His great love, Jesus died in our place to pay the penalty for our sin.
  4. Romans 6:23 (part b) (NKJV)– “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
God offers you eternal life as a free gift through His Son.
  5. Romans 10:13 (NKJV) – For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
If you believe in Jesus and ask Him to save you, He promises He will.

If you're ready to accept Christ as your Savior, you can pray something like this from your heart:

Suggested Prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe that You are God and that You died for my sins. I believe You rose from the dead, proving that You are the only way to Heaven. Right now, as best as I know how, I ask You to forgive me of my sins and to be my Lord and Savior. Thank You for loving me and for saving me. Help me to live for You from this day forward. Amen.

If you just prayed that prayer and meant it, welcome to God’s family! You now have a Heavenly Father who will walk with you every step of the way.

This is the most important step you could ever take—and the beginning of a brand-new journey.
