The Joy of the In-Betweenనమూనా
Offering God Whatever You Have
When I decided to pursue online ministry full-time, it wasn’t easy. After all, I wasn’t making a lot of money, no one knew my name, and I wasn’t successful. However, I made a goal of consistently posting content for five months. I called this my “five loaves and two fish” because I posted seven pieces of content every day.
I was inspired by the story in Matthew 14 of how Jesus fed five thousand people. The disciples were able to give Jesus only five loaves of bread and two fish to feed the large crowd. They didn’t have much, but they gave Him what they had. Jesus blessed the food, and when He divided it to be distributed to the crowd, there was more than enough.
So, day after day, month after month, I faithfully showed up to complete my five loaves and two fish. Slowly but surely, I began to enjoy the process of reaching my five loaves and two fish every day. All the while being faithful with what God had put in my hands, I saw growth in my business.
After five solid months of keeping that commitment, my business had grown exponentially. I had built trust in my ability to fulfill the promises I made to God and myself.
Sometimes when you’re waiting on God, things can feel completely out of control. Although you cannot control your circumstances, you can always control how faithful you are with what God gives you.
I don’t know what your five loaves and two fish are today, but if you give God the little you have today you can be assured that He will multiply it. So be faithful with what you have. And watch what God does with it.
God, I know there are so many things that are out of my control. Everything I have, I give to You. I trust that even when I have little to give, You can do a lot with it. In Jesus’ name, amen.

The greatest test of our faith is when we pray for something and God does not answer. Will we still believe in Him and put our faith in Him? Will we still trust Him and choose Him, even when He doesn’t answer our prayers in the timeframe we want Him to? This week’s devotional explores what it looks like to choose joy even in the waiting seasons.
