What Jesus Said About the Cost of Discipleshipనమూనా
As sheep among wolves
"I am sending you out like sheep among wolves." (Matthew 10:16).
Victor John, church planter and the leader of a disciple-making movement of several million people in India said: After all, it is "among the wolves that we are to find sheep." This is where, according to Scripture, we will find the sheep. Jesus said: I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. (Matthew 10:16.) This implies that the disciples of Jesus need to go into the world.
The world is not a friendly place to the church. Yes, in many areas, the church is being respected. But in most places and nations around the globe, the church is not welcome. The world cannot accommodate the church because it must tell them there is a problem with their lives. The church will say to them they are under God's judgement and on their way to hell unless they repent of their sins.
This is not a popular message in the world. The world wants to do its own thing, live according to its own rules and doesn't want anyone to tell them what is right or wrong, what they can and cannot do. The world argues that they will not allow anyone to bully them into submission.
Jesus sends us into hostile territory. But He deliberately sends us to the world because it needs his salvation, healing, forgiveness, and eternal Fatherhood.
Obedience: Will you go wherever Jesus will send you? Even if it is to go to the wolves?
Build friendship relationships with unsaved people. We need to reach out to the unsaved around us. One of the primary purposes of this 25-week equipment process is to help you effectively reach out to unsaved people and start new disciple-making groups. Jesus came to call sinners to repentance (Luke 5:32). We have the same responsibility.
