Be Intentional: The Gift of Timeనమూనా
In this scripture, we find a timeless lesson in the balance of busyness and being in the presence of Jesus. Martha, diligent and concerned with the preparations, approaches Jesus with a plea for assistance.
However, Jesus gently redirects her focus, revealing a truth about her priorities. How often do you find yourself in the position of Martha, consumed by the countless tasks that demand your attention? The demands of life, responsibilities, and even good deeds can overshadow the simplicity of being in the presence of Jesus. There are three key lessons from the scripture:
Recognition of Priorities: Jesus acknowledges that Martha is "worried and upset about many things." It's not that these concerns are unimportant, but Jesus highlights the necessity of discerning the essential from the non-essential.
The Better Choice: Mary, in contrast, chooses to sit at the feet of Jesus, absorbing his teachings and presence. In this choice, you discover the timeless truth that amidst the clamor of life, moments of stillness and communion with God are of utmost importance.
An Invitation to Stillness: Jesus' words resonate across time, inviting you to pause, to choose the "better" part. In the midst of your tasks and concerns, there is a sacred space where you find rest and nourishment.
Think It Over!
As you navigate the demands of your day, consider the balance between activity and stillness. Are there moments when you can intentionally choose the "better" part, sitting at the feet of Jesus, finding solace and wisdom in quiet moments of reflection and prayer?
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
In the midst of my busyness, help me to discern the better choice—to find moments of stillness and communion with you. May I prioritize what truly matters and discover the lasting richness of your presence? In Jesus' name, Amen.

When we appreciate a gift, we take care of it. Steward your gift of time well. Time, the silent force that governs every moment, is the most valuable resource we possess. It is an intangible currency, relentless and impartial, ticking away without pause. Each passing second is an opportunity, a chance to live the purpose God created us for and leave a lasting impact on the world.
