Sealed - Part 1నమూనా
Day 2: Lock the Heart
The word "sealed" in Greek means "to stamp with a private mark" to keep something secret or to close a protected object. Ancient seals were used for official business: a Roman centurion sealed a document intended only for the eyes of his superior commander. If the seal were broken, whoever received the document would know that the letter had been tampered with by someone other than the one who sealed it.
We use our head and heart as the seat of thought and emotion, but the Bible makes the heart the center of our will.
Our hearts are full of blind impulses and hungry desires. The outside world appeals to our needs and wants, regardless of right or wrong, or the consequences of gratifying our desires.
The difference between religiosity and true devotion is the condition of our inner world. The religious person pays great attention to external appearance and performance. But the true worshiper dedicates himself to guarding and beautifying the heart, as guards protect kingdoms and cities, villages and families, treasures and riches.
"Let the heart be far from vanity, the understanding far from error, the will far from perversity, the conscience clear from guilt, the affections far from being disordered and fixed on evil objects, the thoughts far from being employed in evil matters, and all our being from falling into the hands of the enemy or being possessed by Satan. Diligence needs to be used to keep the heart, as it is naturally so deceitful and treacherous. A strict eye must be kept upon it. All paths to the heart must be watched over. It must be maintained by every means that can be imagined, by prayer, hearing, reading, meditation. And, above all, ask Christ for His Grace and Spirit to sanctify, preserve and guard it. "(John Gill)
You may have little experience, knowledge, or skills. But if your heart has a seal of protection and is guarded, Life will flow from you.
My Prayer:
Holy Spirit, give me power and wisdom to guard my heart today and teach me the diligence to keep it pure all the days of my life, in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
