PART 4 - PURPOSE

MAKING SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL OUT OF THE UGLY

A lot of times we think that purpose is a major event, a one-time thing, or moments when we are given credit for our gifts. But the truth is, a life of purpose is far more a journey than it is a moment.

In the film, Reena demonstrates this truth. She’s musically gifted and talented. Throughout the film, we see her use her gifts in moments that help bring everyone together. She even talks about how music is one of the things that helped her get through some of the toughest moments in life. Her purpose is not about one day on the calendar, it is lived throughout her life. And when she lives it out, she always affects those around her in positive ways.

FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS

Esther in the Bible also lived out her purpose over time. As a young Jewish girl under the captivity of the Persian emperor, she found herself in the position of Queen, by the grace of God. That seemed like a big deal, but we saw her purpose really come out when, one day, a Persian leader wanted to eradicate the Jewish people. Because of Esther’s uncle, she was reminded that she “came into her royal position for such a time as this...” and because of her gentle spirit and grace, she was able to convince the king not to kill the Jewish people.

Her purpose was lived out throughout her life, just like Reena’s was, and just like yours can be. As Christians, above all else, Jesus tells us to seek first the Kingdom of God. When we desire to love God, love people, and to use our gifts and talents that He gave us to do that, then we get to experience a life of true purpose!

And remember, your life's purpose is between you and God, not how many followers you have, or what someone else is good at, or what you think others expect from you; rather, it is always about what God has placed in you that will help Him bring Heaven to Earth!
