Real Hope: Discovering Hope in the Life of Mosesనమూనా
Face to Face
How incredible is the heart of our God that He would meet with Moses ‘face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend’. God is a personal and relational God. He can be known. Oswald Sanders was quoted as saying, ‘Every one of us is as close to God as we have chosen’. God sees the desires of our heart displayed in our choices. But God is so very faithful – as we draw close to Him, He will come close to us (James 4:8).
We can never confuse familiarity with intimacy. Familiarity leans on knowing about God. Intimacy leans into the wonder and awe of knowing God.
Even though I’ve been loving the Lord for over thirty years, when I study the Bible, I am studying it to know Him in a greater way as opposed to reading the Word to get a message. Or when I pray, my prayer remains, ‘Can I walk with you Lord, this day?’, instead of ‘Walk with me Lord, this day’. Though the latter still sounds ‘holy’ and noble, I prefer to follow Him through my day.
If God would meet with Moses, a man who has not been redeemed by the sacrifice of Jesus, how much more would He meet with you and me? You and I have access to a relationship that is far more powerful than Moses’ face-to-face contact. God’s Spirit dwells within us, interacting with our spirit. True restored relationship finds its source in continual, unending encounters with God’s presence dwelling with us and upon us. And because of Christ, you can be a friend to God. Make God’s presence a central feature in your life.

A series by Heidi Wysman. “Moses’ life is an example of leadership, servanthood and humility. His story gives us hope that God can use us even after we’ve failed. But most importantly, Moses’ life is a wonderful example of a journey of faith.” (Moses’ Journey Into Leadership – Heidi Wysman). May this plan encourage you that God knows all, sees all, and is with you through it all.
