Think and Grow Wise

Think and Grow Rich is Napoleon Hill’s best-selling book, with over 100 million copies sold around the world. Maybe you have read it too? I love the book and recently became very curious about its connection to the scriptures.

I love self-development books, and as I read them, I see so many of the scriptures in them.

What you are about to embark upon is a discovery of Napolean Hill’s key points and how they can all be found in the scriptures. I’ve titled it, Think and Grow Wise because the scriptures explode with wisdom and will transform your life.

I’m believing for our time together to be transformative.

I’m believing for God’s Word to bring awareness to what He wants you to see. I’m believing for miracles in your life through the application of God’s Word.

My prayer is you are believing too, and be expectant for great things to come your way.

#1 The Power of Thought

The scriptures tell us in Romans 12:2, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

The word transformed can be translated as renovate. It’s an action word. Your thoughts are the ancestors of your feelings.

I’m sure you all know the Word of God is transformative, but let me share with you the science behind it.

Scientist Candace Pert discovered the mind doesn’t just stay in your head but sends signals or stimuli. These “signal molecules” send information to and from inside the body.

These stimuli can send positive or negative messages through your body.

For instance, if your mother told you you were fat and ugly, you could decipher this through reason and decide it was not true or did not want it to be true. You could then invest in good foods, work out, and create a good career to ensure this information remains untrue.

The opposite would be if you believed these negative signals from your mind causing you to succumb to this belief that you are fat and ugly and there is nothing you can do about it.

This brings us to Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.”

Can you see how what you think about is what you become?

Is your mind consumed with thoughts of lack, guilt, shame, or fear? If you’re thinking these thoughts, you will be feeling those feelings.

And what about the inputs in your life?

As Proverbs mentioned, what words are you allowing into your mind?

What are people saying to you or around you? What type of music are you allowing into your mind?

What thoughts does social media deliver into your mind? What thoughts does the news or any type of media bring your way?

You may be feeling overwhelmed at this point.

Maybe you never thought about what you were allowing into your mind which is generating these negative thoughts.

You may be saying, “it’s not good. I need to change this. This needs to change now.”

The good thing is you can change.

As we read in Romans, God’s Word can renovate your mind. Science confirms this renovation through positive “signal molecules” delivering life and health to your body.

So, what type of power do you want your thoughts to be delivered to yourself and others?
What do you need to change to begin this transformation?
When will you begin making this change (without a date, it’s just a dream)?
Who will you become accountable to (besides yourself)?
A year from now, what type of thoughts do you want to continually be thinking about?
Can you see the transformation process? Can you see the miracle work of God’s Word in your life?

Let me know what resonated with you the most.

I’m rooting and praying with you.

God bless.
