Know the Power of I Am

Be strong and courageous.

What if I told you that God cared so much about you that He strategically placed challenges in your life to remind you of your strength? Seriously! Think about it. To become physically strong, you must work out. If you ever want to gain muscle, you must challenge yourself by adding weights, eating protein, and increasing the frequency of your workouts. You do this because your muscles form through working them to become stronger.

It also applies to everything in life. To become mentally strong, you must work out your brain repeatedly. You must read more to become a better reader. To become stronger and wiser in decision-making, you must face challenges that require you to make hard decisions, such as going out with friends or studying for an upcoming final over the weekend. One decision may sound more fun, but studying may reap a better reward.

God will place challenges, big or small, in your path to build you up where you are weak. If He wants you to become stronger at leadership, He may challenge you by putting you in a group where you have the opportunity to take the lead. So, I dare you to speak your mind, try something new, or step up when you see the opportunity. You never know when God is testing your strength. You have the power to become stronger at anything. When you know where your strength comes from, you’ll continue to lean on Him while you build the muscle needed for the task.

Repeat this Affirmation:

I Am Strong

Because He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak, I have the ability to perform many physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding tasks. In those moments where I feel weak, God is my strength. I know God did not allow me to experience it if He didn’t plan to bring me through it. Thank You, Heavenly Father, for reminding me that through you, I am strong.

Know the Power of I Am

Proverbs 18:21 teaches that "death and life are in the power of the tongue" (NKJB). Some of the most powerful words we speak are those we choose to put after "I Am." What we say after stating "I Am" will affect the trajectory of our lives. This devotional will teach you how to speak with authority while understanding your identity in Christ and not the world.
