Thriving Through And After Infertility And Lossనమూనా
Turn Towards One Another and Him
We came together and chose one another. We promised to witness one another’s lives. We promised to be there through the good and the bad, the dark and the light.
We chose one another.
And, it was for many reasons, not only to procreate.
The infertility journey can leave our relationships in shambles unfortunately. We must remember to practice the hard work of a healthy relationship, especially in the difficult journey of infertility and loss.
Turn towards one another not away. Together you can get through this and be made even stronger because of it.
Are you loving one another in how the other feels love (Dr. Gary Chapman’s 5 Love Languages?)
Are you making sure your activities and your conversations are about more than the trying to conceive journey?
Are you being honest and asking for what you want and need from each other?
Are you having the difficult conversations?
Are you walking your faith journey together and individually?
Make time together: my favorite is to plan a date at least once a month. No need for things to be too extravagant, but in the least schedule the time and the activity and make it priority.
Schedule infertility check-ins, this way it does not take over every moment you have together. Set aside a scheduled time each week (or more often) to discuss everything that happens in this journey (the finances, the appointments, the meds, etc.)
Most of all, remember you are partners through this. God wants us to take His hand and one another’s hand and walk through this journey together. Pray together and seek His word together.
