Divorce To Healing: 31 Days Of Healing And Wholenessనమూనా
"Thankfulness"
Some people may tell you to be thankful for ditching that zero, losing that ball and chain, etc. I challenge that notion. Being thankful for a divorce is as crazy as being thankful for an accident that causes injury or death. That is crazy!!
Divorce is an event in one’s life that causes the ground to shake under their feet and question themselves, their judgements, and others. It also opens the eyes of a person to show them that no matter what happens, you have something left.
Even if you lose your marriage, spouse, kids, finances, house, job, car, etc.., you can still find many things to be thankful for. Depending on where you are in the healing timeline, just the ability to still be alive and reading this is a start.
When you stop and take a full inventory of what is left, it will look drastically different than what you had, but you may finally realize things you never gave a moment’s thought to before: supportive friends/family, life, being able to walk & talk and have hair on your head. How many people wish they had what you have?
During difficult times, most people find it hard to see all of the things they are thankful for. Write down on a piece of paper at least 10 things and put it someplace where you will see it every day, like a mirror or your bible.
When you can see and be thankful for the things you still have left, it will allow you to realize that things aren’t as bad as they could be. Make it a daily goal to add one new thing to be thankful for to your list. Mine is that you are here today.
Prayer
God, let me see your blessings and be thankful for what I have. You fed thousands with 5 loaves and 2 fish. I thank you for what I have now, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
