A House Built on Love: Answering God's Call

Go Forth

Over the course of this week, you’ve asked yourself:: "What dreams has God put on my heart?", "How do I say ‘yes’ to the dream?", and "What have I got in my hands?"

These questions are so important. As Christ followers, we’re called to "run the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus".

When Ed felt prompted by the Holy Spirit to start Hope into Action, he never could have imagined where God would lead him. But he followed the call and now this Spirit-inspired idea is changing lives and setting people free.

But Ed isn’t a "super Christian". We all have a part to play in restoring God’s world to a place where justice rolls like a river, where people’s lives are changed by the love of Jesus, and where those without an earthly home can feel the warm embrace of an eternal Father.

So, go forth!

Go forth in boldness and in the knowledge that no weapon formed against you will prevail when you step out in faith and surrender to the Father’s dream for you.

Does that mean everything you do will be an earthly success? No, but success in God’s Kingdom was never about numbers or money or fame. Success in God’s Kingdom is about looking at what you’ve got in your hands and saying, "Yes, Lord."

As this plan comes to an end, ask yourself:

  • In what ways is God calling you to go forth with the dreams He’s put on your heart?
  • Now you know what you’ve got in your hands, what is God inviting you to do with it?
  • What fears do you need to give to the Lord so you can go forth in boldness?

When you know the answers, why not take a leap of faith as Ed did, trusting in God, and answer that call?

Why not say "Yes!"?

Thank you for following along with us on this plan. If you’ve enjoyed it, you can read the full story of Ed’s journey of following God’s call to set up the ground-breaking charity Hope into Action in the book A House Built on Love, available from SPCK Publishing.
