The Holy Spirit Gives Us Gifts, Too
The Holy Spirit is the best gift we’ll ever receive. He empowers us to do what we could never do on our own.
Not only is the Holy Spirit a gift, He also gives spiritual gifts. Every believer has been given at least one spiritual gift to build God’s kingdom.
1 Corinthians 12:4 says, “There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all.” The Bible goes on to give examples of spiritual gifts: prophecy, teaching, encouragement, giving, leadership, and mercy.
There’s no hierarchy in spiritual gifts. The Holy Spirit distributes them as He sees fit, and all the gifts are essential to the church.
Whatever gift we’ve been given, our job is to discover it and do it joyfully. Really. God is most pleased when we unwrap the gifts He’s given us and allow them to draw us and others closer to Him.
