Someone Needs Me To Be Me!

It is easy to put off until tomorrow what can be done today. Why do we think things will be easier tomorrow? My experience reveals the opposite. Procrastination is a thief, robbing us of valuable time. Though certain seasons of our lives seem like they will never end, we only have a short amount of time to work.

If your work only impacted you, the consequences of procrastination and inaction would be minimized. But that’s not the case. God has created you with talents others need.

If fear and/or self-limiting beliefs are keeping you from doing what you know you should do, I recommend you consider two things: God designed you to succeed at being you and there are people and achievements waiting for you on the other side of fear and self-limiting beliefs. We are interdependent.

Returning to Abraham Lincoln’s example, I’m glad he didn’t do what was politically convenient. My life experiences and aspirations are possible today because of his life decisions made more than a century before my birth. Every time I watch the movie, “Lincoln”, I am moved to tears by Lincoln’s resolve to act on behalf of millions of people yet to be born. I am grateful.
