Jesus' Call To Hurting People—Disciple Makers Series #12నమూనా
Where can we find "great leaders?"
Thoughts on the message
When we look for great people of God—what do we look for?
Do we look for people speaking popular things? Do we look among the highly regarded leaders? It is unlikely we will find God’s great people among them. There is the occasional David (the godly king of Israel), but usually they were unpopular people because of the message they gave—they did not care about earthly possession and lifestyle. John the Baptist was the greatest—and yet treated very poorly.
Jesus says something that encourages me. The very least in God’s kingdom is greater than John. Heaven will be amazing if the least is greater than the greatest in this world. Think about God’s people who have the greatest spiritual failures … they are greater than John the Baptist who was the greatest in the world (from God’s perspective). Be encouraged.
Time to pray
Father, I do not understand how amazing heaven will be. I cannot imagine a place where the worst is better than the best person who ever lived. Help me to understand how great heaven will be. Also, help me to realize the cost of greatness. It is not found in wealth. It is not found in being highly regarded by others. It is found in profound obedience and diligently doing what God has called me to do. That is the way I want to live my life. So help me I pray. In Jesus’ name I pray Amen.
