Not-So-With-YOU

The next time you read verses Matt 20:25-28, focus on the Not-So-With-You command of Jesus and correct your ways: Not-So-With-You in the usage of powers given to us, Not-So-With-You in our self-centered life purpose, Not-So-With-You in living according to the Biblical values of HIS, Not-So-With-You in chasing success, but pursue significance.

Jesus is always the message and the model. He did not just give us the Not-So-With-You message. He modeled it for us when, on the night he was betrayed, He took up the basin, took off His outer clothing, and washed the feet of His disciples, including the one whom He knew would betray Him. And after the act, He told his disciples You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. 16 Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. 17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them (John 13:13-17).

That is the message of Not-So-With-You. Our Lord and Master is asking us to follow His example. There is no other place in the Bible where Jesus explicitly says He did something to set an example. This is the only place. He wanted us to make sure that we follow His example. It is also important to note how Jesus ends this advice. He is saying Blessed are you if you do accordingly. I have looked into more than 40 English translations of the Bible and found all say the same thing, the focus being on practice, not just on knowing or not even teaching.
