Following Christமாதிரி
Following Means Healing Follows
Jesus’ earthly ministry heavily involved healing the sick and afflicted. The gospels recount how Jesus healed everyone who came to Him. Not one person who met Him left the same. The scriptures also mention that He also healed every kind of sickness. He didn’t just stop there, but He also delivered people from demonic oppression which kept them emotionally and mentally bound. It’s no different today! Jesus still heals all of us who follow Him. We may not receive our healing immediately, and it may not be in the way that we envision it, but He always comes through for those who love and follow Him.
When we follow this God, our lives are literally turned upside down! He takes us off the beaten path and down paths we have never imagined we would walk down. As life’s journey progresses, we find that healing is not just something that happens in the physical but on a holistic level. We humans are so wonderfully complex in our being that we don’t just possess a physical body but have a soul and spirit that are intricately connected to each other. The Holy Spirit who lives and moves in us brings healing relationally, emotionally, physically, creatively, mentally, and spiritually. This healing is almost imperceptible but gradually begins to be seen in tangible ways that are recognizable not just to us, but those around us! Today, we have an edge that those who lived in the time of Jesus didn’t. It’s the resurrection power of Christ that is made accessible to every follower of Jesus. This power, when it courses through our bodies, spirits and souls, brings life to everything that was dead and begins to transform us into the likeness of Christ Himself. We are never the same again as we are gradually, day by day, situation by situation, changed from the inside out.
