The Peace God Givesமாதிரி
Philippians 4:6-7
Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Peace is fully experienced by a man who prays and gives thanks often. How often do we lose our peace because we are not praying? A prayerful man is often known for how quiet his soul is. We must understand that the result of being prayerful is having a peaceful heart. It is not possible to have a solid prayer life and not experience God's peace in your heart. It therefore means prayer is a vital way to secure God's peace in our hearts.
However, praying is not the only thing needed, giving thanks continually is also very important. Our text shows that a prayer life and a life of gratitude produce a peaceful heart. More so, giving thanks is God's will for us (see 1 Thessalonians 5:18). Whenever we give thanks we are in God's will, and when we are in God's will we will experience peace in our hearts.
A closer look at our text shows that the actual miracle that Prayer and Thanksgiving produce is a peace that will keep our hearts from anxiety, worry, and everything that seeks to crush our hearts. Peace is a miracle, Prayer and Thanksgiving produces it.
Instead of murmuring and complaining and further losing our peace, it is great wisdom to pray and give thanks.
