TheLionWithin.Us: Is There Honor in All Jobs?மாதிரி
Faithful
What does it mean to be faithful in our professional journeys?
Hebrews 11:1 tells us “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” As I think about this verse in the context of our individual callings, it seems to make sense that God, being the Author of life, provides confidence to us because at our core we all wonder if we have what it takes.
Pulling on that further, if we are living in a world of fear and doubt, how wonderful is it that we are shown how confidence and assurance is there for us every step of the way. It appears that if we remain faithful in developing and stewarding the talents He provides, this can be a powerful way to honor and glorify Him. Imagine a scenario where Michael Jordan quit after being cut from his high school team, the talent God provided would have been wasted.
Perhaps, talents and gifts only align to His heavenly calling when we faithfully exercise them on a daily basis. If you are called to teach others and are not executing that in your daily practice that is the same as MJ never picking up a ball again. It is our responsibility, as partakers of a heavenly calling, to be faithful at all times, especially when it comes to using the gifts He provides on a consistent basis.
Questions to Consider:
- How are you faithfully using the talents from God to fulfill His calling in your life?
- What items in your professional journey have taken the most faith to pursue? Would you do it again?
