Kindness Illustrated

As Christians, we’re not to carry our burdens alone but to share them with others. When we do this, the weight of our burdens is lifted through the prayers and help of others. Throughout our lives, we’ll encounter many problems, which can make life quite difficult at times. We need to humble ourselves and let our brethren in on our struggles. And as we do, through God’s love, our burdens will be lightened.

Action Steps

Every day, sit down with your spouse for five minutes and share your most difficult experience of the day. Pray for each other and commit to continue praying for those difficult/challenging situations you both will face. The next day, encourage each other by writing down a Bible verse on a piece of paper and giving it to one another.

Once a week (Sunday nights are perfect), both you and your spouse should write down a task you’d like them to help you with for the next seven days and exchange notes. Spend ten minutes discussing why you’d like to get some help on that specific task and how their help will be a blessing to you.
