Royals Part II: Divided KingdomMfano
Easy Peasy
You may not have ever been in the presence of royalty but have you ever been in the room with someone with genuine power and authority? Someone who could just say a word and whatever they want, it would be done. It just feels different when someone like that is around. You would think that on an ordinary day that when the Kings of Israel, Judah, and Edom were together there would be something of this feeling.
But this is not any ordinary day, stuck in the desert with no water and an enemy army to face, all the power and authority of these kings means nothing. In a few days, they would be dead. That would have been the certain result if the Lord had not intervened. At this moment, as they turn to the Lord in desperation, we see where the true power lies.
Elisha says, "This is an easy thing in the eyes of the Lord." Where the limits of human strength and capability end, the power of the Lord begins. Just like these kings, we were all once trapped in a desert with no way out. We were all once dead in our sin with no way of saving ourselves but what is impossible for us is easy for God.
