Foretold - Seeing Is BelievingSmakprov
The earliest mention in the Bible of the people in the land of the Philistines goes back to the time of Joshua, as God led the Israelites to the Promised Land. The remnant of the Anakim, a race of giants that God had cut off from the land, survived in Gaza, Gath, and Ashdod.
Afterward, throughout the 400 years of the Judges (1400 - 1000 BC), the Philistines were a thorn in the side of the Israelites, harassing her people and conquering their lands.
King David famously faced the Philistine giant Goliath, killing him with a sling and starting his Divinely ordered rise to power in Israel.
Centuries later, from 760 BC through 586 BC, multiple Bible prophets foretold the end of the Philistines. The entire race was condemned because of their ancient hostility and acts of vengeance against Israel. None would be left.
The beginning of the end of the Philistines came with the rise of the Babylonians. Nebuchadnezzar burned their cities, slaughtered the inhabitants, and deported the survivors, ending their political and cultural power around 603 BC.
By 165 BC the cities of the Philistines were considered Greek and fell in the Maccabean revolt.
The same God who damned the Philistines to extinction is the same God who revealed mercy, a way to escape the punishment for sin along with a surprising supernatural proof for when it happens.
Jesus described the act of being born again as a supernatural event, comparing it to the wind. Paul later explained this further, calling it a deposit and proof that heaven awaits those who believe.
As surely as God supernaturally foretold the details of Edom, Tyre, and the Philistines, He promises His Spirit will indwell you when you are born again. This is a real, tangible deposit (something comes in that wasn’t there before) from the Holy Spirit that you can look to with the same certainty as the evidence captured on camera in the nations today.
How do you access this spiritual evidence? Confess with your mouth to others that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.
Then you will be born again from above and this deposit like the wind will be given to you, as promised by God Himself. You will be saved from punishment for your sins of yesterday, today, and tomorrow, protecting your soul throughout eternity.
