What is the armor of God?

The belt of truth: this is part of the armor to have. It is the basic doctrines of our faith and the foundations of what we live upon daily.

The breastplate of righteousness: this righteousness is not earned by us but is only received by faith in Jesus.

The shoes of peace: this is the preparation or readiness to share the gospel of peace.

Shield of faith: our faith is represented as a shield of protection when we are under attack through thoughts, feelings, imagination, fear and lies. Faith can bring us back.

Helmet of Salvation: this is the hope of our salvation. When we face discouragement, we are reminded that not only are we now saved but we will be. We will reign with God in victory!

The sword of the Spirit: this is the word of God! God didn’t just give us the scriptures but through the Spirit makes it come alive in each of us and equips us to use it during times of need.

This summary literally just scratches the surface of the depth we can find in the armor of God. I encourage us to continue studying each of these for ourselves as we learn to depend on these resources.
