Kingdom Impact: The Power of the 4 W's

DAY 3 OF 4

WORK:

Bible Verse: "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ." Colossians 3:23 (ESV)

Let's face it: work can be tough. But when we approach it with the right attitude, it can be a rewarding and fulfilling experience. Did you know that the original Hebrew word for work, "Avodah", also meant worship?

That’s right, your work is a form of worship.

The idea that work can be a form of worship is rooted in the belief that God created humans to be stewards of His creation. By engaging in work, we are participating in God's ongoing work of creation and sustaining the world.

The Bible tells us that we should work as if we're working for the Lord, not just for our human bosses. That means putting our best effort into everything we do, whether it's cleaning the house, taking care of our kids, or working a 9-to-5 job.

Remember, work is a gift from God. It's a way for us to contribute to the world and to provide for ourselves and our families. So, let's approach it with gratitude and a desire to do our best.

And let's also remember that we're not just working for ourselves. We're representing Christ to the world. So, let's be examples of hard work, integrity, and kindness. Let's show others what it means to live a life that honors God.

Reflection Question:
In what areas of your work or daily responsibilities can you shift your mindset to see them as acts of worship to the Lord, and how might this change your attitude toward those tasks?
