God’s mighty power is at work within us. What an incredible thought!

In this scripture, Paul is trying to give us a view of how extensive and vast this power is. If it is infinitely more than we might ask or think, then surely that qualifies us to have a winning attitude and expectation. Unfortunately, we often limit the power of God moving in our lives because we reduce God to our way of thinking and limit Him to what we can do or what we have experienced. However it’s important to view God and His ability, not through the lens of our experience, but by how the Word of God describes Him.

I started to grow in my understanding of God when I first gave my life to Him. I had grown up in a church that didn’t really talk about the power of God operating in our lives. Consequently, I didn’t have an expectation to see His power at work and I didn’t even look for it. I would be a faithful attender of church and would sometimes pray, but I would never think that God was going to intervene in my life through his mighty power. One day my Aunty started to share stories with me of people being supernaturally healed or delivered from demonic power. This started to spark my interest and stir a desire in my heart to see and experience this myself.

Shortly after I gave my life to Jesus, I started to see the mighty power of God move. It was so exciting and way beyond what I might ask or think. I saw people get instantly healed and then I would pray for others and they would get healed too. This was God’s mighty power at work within me. It means that our God can do the impossible and He can work in such a way that defies human logic and reasoning and goes beyond what we may ask or think. It means that we again win because God is a God of mighty power!

Prayer:
Dear Jesus,

You have made a way for us to win in every aspect of our lives. You are an awesome God and today I ask You to go beyond my highest thoughts and prayers to see Your Kingdom come on Earth as it is in Heaven. Forgive me if I have limited You due to my lack of faith or expectation. Instead I ask for Your mighty power to be at work within me to bring about the impossible.

In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
