100 Days of HopeUzorak
One Act Of Obedience
We are now living in Camden, New Jersey, where the needs of those in the city are many and how to best meet those needs can be overwhelming. It is during these times that we truly recognize we are not in control, but God is. He has the master plan. We may be asked by God to do an act of obedience that we do not completely understand or that may seem trivial. However, that act may be the faith needed for God to impact the world—one act of obedience and one person at a time.
In the above verses, we meet a man named Ananias. He was sent by God to find Saul and place hands on him so that Saul’s sight would be restored. If Ananias had not been obedient, what would have happened to Saul? Yet in this one act of obedience, Ananias helps to change the world. The miraculous happens, and Saul becomes Paul.
Recently, we were able to speak and pray with a youth living in a high-crime area in Camden. We let him know how much God loves him and that He has important plans for him. All to God’s glory, this youth received what we spoke and prayed. Perhaps this was our “Ananias” act of obedience, and this young man is now becoming the “Paul” he is called to be. That is our prayer.
Prayer: Father, we reflect on your amazing love, peace, and grace today. We ask that you give us the faith to be obedient to the call you have set before us.
