What to Pray for Your ChildrenUzorak
What to pray for your children
Practical guidelines (1)
Pray for their salvation. “So I am willing to endure anything if it will bring salvation and eternal glory in Christ Jesus to those God has chosen” (2 Timothy 2:10). “Didn’t the Lord make you one with your wife? In body and spirit you are His. And what does He want? Godly children from your union. So guard your heart; remain loyal to the wife of your youth” (Malachi 2:15). “In the same way, it is not my heavenly Father’s will that even one of these little ones should perish” (Matthew 18:14).
Pray for them to grow and increase in love. “Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered Himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God” (Ephesians 5:2).
Pray that honesty, integrity, and faithfulness will be part of their value system. “May integrity and honesty protect me, for I put my hope in You” (Psalm 25:21).
Pray that God’s Spirit of power, love, and self-control will fill them and that they will be free from fear. “So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded” (1 Thessalonians 5:6). “Love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced His perfect love” (1 John 4:18).
