Psalm 16 is a beacon for those seeking such joy, offering profound reasons to choose joy today and for eternity. Let’s explore two of the reasons that David presents, revealing how he found joy even during trials.

David’s first cited reason for joy is his ability to take shelter in God. In times of storm and stress, David chooses to seek refuge under God’s protective wing. This choice—to depend on God as the ultimate Protector—provides immediate comfort and a perpetual, secure refuge. It’s this realization that whatever may come, there’s a steadfast sanctuary available that ushers in true joy.
