Connecting With God | Dive DeeperUzorak
Week 6 | Take Your Encounters Public
Day Four
Spend some time in prayer before you begin. Ask God to bring someone to mind while you are reading this word that He wants you to share it with.
- Read Matthew 28:19-20 again but this time try reading it in a different version than you did before, look up the definitions of words you don’t know, summarize what the passage is saying in your own words.
- Do some research, read a commentary on this passage (The Bible Project is a good source) or watch a sermon on this passage. What did you learn from what God has revealed to others through this passage?
- Do you think this passage teaches us about God’s creation, man’s sin, God’s redemption of man, or God’s restoration of man to Himself? It can be more than one. Why is it important to think about this?
- How does knowing these were Jesus’s last words to His disciples recorded in the book of Matthew change how you view Him? Why do you think He has asked us to go and make disciples?
- Do you feel confident in your ability to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey all that God has taught you? If not, remember that Jesus is with you always in this, He has given you a helper!
Spend some time in prayer as you close. Ask God to reveal to you one person you could start discipling (intentionally investing in their spiritual walk). Ask Him to make a way for this relationship to begin or grow stronger. Step out in faith and ask a leader for help with this!
