Joy for the Journey: Finding Hope in the Midst of TrialUzorak
In 2015, I was completely broken and fearful for what the future would be like for my family. I didn’t know anything about addiction or if my husband was actually an alcoholic. All I knew was that I was miserable, and I truly believed I was stuck living this misery day in and day out for the rest of my life.
God has taken me on a journey to joy through trusting Him and allowing Him to be my guide. Today, I am happy, hopeful, strong, and joyful.
Some of you may be wondering, How can I have joy when my husband is drinking all day? How can I have joy when my daughter is in jail? How can I have joy when my son is homeless on the streets?
Maybe this journey you are on feels like a road trip gone wrong, and now you’re wondering, Where is God? Why are we on this journey? How can I have any joy right now? I am tired of masking and pretending everything is okay.
I learned over the years that God is right here on this journey—walking right alongside us—and we can find joy when we place our HOPE in Jesus and have faith in Him.
My name is Amy LaRue. Over the next several days, I’m going to share a little of my story and how I found the strong hope I have in Jesus. I hope you’ll find hope within my story and discover that you, too, can have joy in the journey.
