The term "whole" encapsulates the idea of being in an undamaged, unbroken, healthy, and complete state. The Father desires for you to experience wholeness in your body, soul, and spirit. This transformative journey toward wholeness begins with becoming a new creation in Christ, as 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT) declares, "This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!"
Spiritual wholeness, as portrayed in the Bible, hinges not on personal accomplishments but on the acceptance of God's intervention through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Your faith in Christ and His redemptive sacrifice allows God to declare you whole, transcending your imperfections and shortcomings.
With Jesus dwelling in your heart, you undergo a profound transformation into a complete and whole person. Before His presence in your life, your spirit was dormant, rendering you incomplete. John 6:63 (ESV) underscores this, stating: "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life." His Spirit breathes new life into your spirit, bestowing upon you a sense of wholeness.
Believing in Him and attaining wholeness establishes a relationship so intimate with God that you become one with Him, as affirmed in 1 Corinthians 6:17 (NLT), "But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him." This oneness with Him completes and makes you whole.
In John 5:6-9 (KJV), Jesus poses a poignant question to a man, "Wilt thou be made whole?" Following the man's affirmative response, Jesus heals him, and the subsequent verse notes, "And immediately the man was made whole." You were designed to be a complete person—body, soul, and spirit. Through your 'born again' experience and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, you have become whole.
Reflection: If you find yourself seeking fulfillment and completeness, remember that the Father views you as whole and complete in every aspect. Affirm to yourself, "I am whole in Christ, lacking no good thing!" Embrace the understanding that being complete and whole encompasses physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions, providing you with all that you need.
