Faith & Love: A One Year Bible Reading Plan - Part 8Uzorak
Luke 14 speaks about loving people like God loves us, without expecting anything in return. God loves us with an unconditional love – it is not based on what we do or don’t do for Him. He loves us and gives freely. We should love like God loves.
'He also said to the one who had invited Him, “When you give a lunch or a dinner, don’t invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors, because they might invite you back, and you would be repaid. On the contrary, when you host a banquet, invite those who are poor, maimed, lame, or blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”' Luke 14:12-14
This speaks about loving the poor, maimed, lame, and blind. Jesus calls us to love those who cannot necessarily repay us or love us back in the same way.
May our intimate relationship with God as our Father be our daily reality so that it simply flows from us to others. May we have an unconditional love for others, not expecting anything in return. May we love like God loves!
Maybe this stretches you a bit. I want to challenge you to pray and ask God to reveal to you who it is that you should go and love without expecting anything in return. What is stopping you? May you go and love people today like God loves you!
