YOU HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST

We all have good and bad memories of our school days. I remember excelling in sports but never in studies. In India, when you score 90% in your examinations, everyone treats you like you’re the best and like “no one can ever compare to your academic intelligence”. On the other hand, if you do well in sports and you tell people about it, you would always get that look like “you’re good for nothing” and that’s what you will always be in life. Sadly, I used to hear these false prophecies from my teachers and as a result, I developed insecurity. Their words would constantly play in my mind. A few of my family members only echoed these same false prophecies.

By God’s grace I graduated from school with just over 50%, which to me, was a miracle. After much prayer, to the surprise of many, I was selected to study at a university in the US. I remember that at the start of this new era, my dad spoke a true prophesy over my life saying that I “have the mind of Christ.” This new prophesy drew me to a study on the meaning of having the mind of Christ where I discovered that the word “Have” in Greek is “ECHO”- which means “to hold” “own” “possess” “to be closely joined to a person” and these revelations made something to jump inside of me.

The moment I gave my life to Jesus, I received His Spirit, Who breathes and manifests His Mind and Life through me. I was determined to meditate on this verse as much as I could because I wanted to flush out those lies and false prophecies that had been spoken over my life all those years. Keeping this verse close to my heart, I would pray this Scripture before I would start to study. My prayer would be something like this “Lord Jesus, I thank You that Your mind is my mind. Your mind is not dull but it is sharp to receive and process. I thank you a million times over that it is working in me right now, in your name I pray. Amen”

Subsequently, I graduated from university with a score of 89%. I couldn’t believe that I had wasted my previous years thinking I didn’t have it in me. Glory be to God!

Application: I encourage you to take time to meditate on this verse. If you’re a student, pray and speak this verse out before you study. If you’re into business, pray, meditate and ask the Lord to give you new ideas and fill you with His peace before you sign that deal. When you close your eyes to pray, see the Lord releasing His wisdom and power in your time of need.

Whatever field of work you are into, I want you to know that you have all the Wisdom you need to excel and prosper, because you HAVE, OWN, and POSSESS the mind of Christ.
