Jesus' profound solution

What answers are you looking for right now? Perhaps what your future will look like? When the battle that you're in will finally end? What we'd give sometimes to know the answers to our hardest questions!

When a severe famine hit Egypt in Joseph's time, it also looked like there was no answer. But, there was! It just wasn't the answer the people expected or wanted. Rather than an immediate solution, it was one that led to a profound answer.

Joseph was able to interpret Pharaoh's dream before the crisis came upon them. He told Pharaoh, "'…God has shown Pharaoh what He is about to do. Seven years of great abundance are coming throughout the land of Egypt, but seven years of famine will follow them. Then all the abundance in Egypt will be forgotten, and the famine will ravage the land.'" (Genesis 41:28-30, NIV) With this advanced notice, Pharaoh was able to prepare and fill the storehouses during the good years.

Jesus has also given you advanced notice for your life! He said, "'I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.'" (John 16:33, NIV)

Perhaps this isn't the immediate solution to your current problem, but it is the solution that leads to a profound answer. It's perfectly normal for us to run into situations that scare us, leave us with unanswered questions, and sometimes pull the rug out from under our feet. But we can prepare ourselves…what a gift!

We can fill our spiritual pantries on good days with the truth that Jesus doesn't leave us alone in our fear—He reminds us not to be discouraged! He doesn't tell us to just get through it—He tells us to "'…take heart! I have overcome the world.'"

This truth may not be the answer you're seeking right now, but I promise you it is the solution that will lead you to profound answers in every area of your life. I encourage you to believe it and trust Him today! :-)
