He Will Make All Things Right!Uzorak
Our Part – Spreading the Gospel & Interceding in prayer
Matthew 24:14: “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”
We can have a part in making everything right and bringing Jesus back again! Isn’t that exciting?! When the Gospel is preached to every nation, then Jesus is coming back. It is our privilege to tell the good news of the Gospel to everyone God brings into our path! Second Peter 3:12-13 also indicates that we can affect or even speed up the time when Jesus comes back and makes all things right. “...as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.”
It is easy to want to hurt our enemies, or pray that God would exact our opinion of justice on them, but the Bible says we need to pray for them. There are so many things wrong in our world today; injustices beyond our imagination. The answer is to join with our fabulous God in intercession. Jesus is constantly interceding for us as Hebrews 7:25 declares: “Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.”
Romans 8:26 tells us that the Holy Spirit is also interceding for us: “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”
We know that the Lord desires us to intercede with Him and stand in the gap for people, cities, and nations here on earth. We also see in at least 3 Scriptures, that God can’t find anyone to join with Him, and it is heart breaking!
Isaiah 59:15-16: “The Lord looked and was displeased that there was no justice. He saw that there was no one, he was appalled that there was no one to intervene; so his own arm achieved salvation for him, and his own righteousness sustained him.”
Isaiah 63:5: “I looked, but there was no one to help, I was appalled that no one gave support; so my own arm achieved salvation for me, and my own wrath sustained me.
Ezekiel 22:30: “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.”
And even though it may seem like our little intercessory prayers aren’t doing much – they are stored up for just the right time; Revelation 8:3-5 demonstrates one of those magnificent times: “Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people, on the golden altar in front of the throne. The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God from the angel’s hand. Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake.”
When God gives us the privilege of spreading the Gospel, and joining with Him in intercession, we will be blessed by taking advantage of these wonderful opportunities. God will make all things right, but oh the joy, if we can have a small part with the eternal God Himself, in watching the restoration take place!
Reflection: The privilege of partnering with our amazing God in making all things right, and seeing His future for us coming into focus, is a joy beyond our ability to express.
