Filled With Gratitude

DAN 5 OD 5

Prayers of Worship

Worship Is Giving Thanks

We worship God by the standard of Christ, not by the standard of the world. As following worshipers of God, we seek Him because He first sought us. The two words we can use to express our gratitude is “Thank You.”

A resentful or hardened heart cannot say thank you, because it only looks at what one does not have. What we do have is all liberty, mercy, and grace through Christ. But for some, it can’t be touched because there is something underlining in the heart that tells them “no, you can’t allow God to have this.”

When we desire to be healed and ready for Jesus to touch all those unwanted parts, we then find what true liberty really is. We discover who God really is through thankfulness. Psalm 100:4 tells us that thanksgiving is the beginning of worship.

Even in the hard times, God is there, God is good and calls to us saying: “The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him.” (Lamentations 3:25)

Seek God and ask Him to fill you to overflowing with gratitude. Begin to speak with thanksgiving for every blessing God has given you – a new day, breath in your lungs, a family, a job, whatever – and watch how He will remind you of His great faithfulness and love. Give Him thanks right now. Worship Him.

Prayer for the day:

Dear Jesus, fill me with authentic gratitude for what the Father has done for me. Remind me again of my identity in being a child of God, so that I may never wander from You. Forgive me for walking in my own ways and not committing to You all of my hopes, dreams, and desires. Now, seek my heart, try my mind, purify me from all my anxieties so that what remains is a broken sacrifice. Thank You that You are a God of mercy, forgiveness, and compassion. Your graciousness in accepting me as I am is a true gift. I honor You with my body. Continue, Lord, to fan the flame in my heart to burn brighter for You and to help point others to Your redeeming love. – Amen.
