Hope for Today Uzorak
Did you get everything done?
"I only got half of everything done again today..." I recently sent my friend this exact voice message at the end of a long day, and it was like God was tapping me right then on the shoulder.
It had seemed so clear to me: my disappointment in myself had disappointed Him. And why? Because yes, it was a day when I had taken time with God, when I was able to help many people and be there for them. A day when I was able to listen to people in need and respond to a lot of questions. A day when I did my work. But…it was also a day when I left laundry undone and many emails unanswered.
What do you think is really most important to God? If you don't know, I'd like to remind you:
- Time with Him. Or actually, the other way around: He wants time with YOU! "Seek the LORD and His strength; seek His face evermore!" (Psalms 105:4, NKJV)
- Time for you and the things you need to do. "And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands for us; yes, establish the work of our hands." (Psalms 90:17, NKJV)
- Time for others. "Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone..." (Galatians 6:10, NLT)
It doesn't matter to God how much you get done during the day. It matters to God how you get it done:
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters" (Colossians 3:23, NIV).
So, whether you take "time with Him," "time for you and the things you need to do," or "time for others," you're not doing it for yourself or others. You are doing it for the Lord, and He desires all your devotion, all your love!
If you give yourself completely to God, every day has 100% meaning! Even if you only get "half of everything" done today in your eyes.
You are enough!
You're a miracle!
