Living an Ordinary Week: Seeing God in SimplicityUzorak
So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. (Romans 12:1 MSG)
I love Saturdays! Most Saturdays I enjoy the small yet greatly enjoyed treat of sleeping later than each of the other six days. After waking up and putting on my comfees, (our name for comfortable clothes, not to be confused with the diapers by the same name) I drink some hot tea and read a section of the Bible. Then I head to the kitchen. Honestly, I do not cook much Sunday—Friday, but nearly every Saturday I take out the bowls, whisks, spoons, measuring cups, and all the ingredients to make my famous (at least in our house) pancakes. Before mid-morning therefore I have slept well, read well, and eaten delicious food. Not a bad start.
After accomplishing whatever else each Saturday has in store, I prepare to go to bed and a few hours later, begin another week. Sunday here I come! Before I let each week pass however I do well to pause and say thank you to God for being with me 24/7.
Saturday is a great day for saying thank you.
On this final day of focusing on The Ordinary Week I offer you a Call to Action.
Call to Action
Pick a calendar of your choice, one on which you can write/type. Work your way through the calendar day-by-day for a week prayerfully considering how to plan to use, dedicate and enjoy each day. Be specific. For example, you might plan on intentionally exhibited more of Sunday’s joy on Monday at work. Or you might write on Wednesday’s box “take a nap”.
Once you complete the calendar, post it where you will see it each morning and then do what you planned.
We pray this 7 day reading plan has blessed you.

O ovom planu
Living a good life is not simple. The ease of doing so is challenged by mundane things such as—busyness, fatigue, lack of focus, forgetfulness. Pastor Mark T. Goodman advocates for appreciating the less-than-extraordinary aspects of life. The simple life includes extraordinary events and less-than-ordinary experiences; yet, ordinary things fill up most of our days. Mark invites you to give The Ordinary Way a try.
