When I Wake Up in The Morning

Isaiah 50:4b

Every morning He wakes me. He teaches me to listen like a student.

Valerie loves playing chess. She is always excited to wake up early every Saturday morning to go to her chess club. Sometimes she even awakes before her alarm goes off. It shows how much she loves chess and how excited she is to attend her chess class. 

When you love doing something, you will be excited even though you have to sacrifice your sleeping or playing time. This is how Jesus started His days when He lived on earth as a man. The first thing that Jesus did when He woke up was to pray, talking to His Father in Heaven. He did this happily because He loves God His Father. 

Beside love, we need discipline as well. Let’s discipline ourselves with love to wake up in the morning and give thanks to God for the brand-new day He has made! And let’s end our day by talking to God, instead of scrolling through our social media or Whatsapp, or playing games on our phone or computer. 

Prayer

Dear God, each morning when I wake up, I would like to talk to You and be thankful for the breath and brand-new day You give me. Amen.
