The best kind of parties are surprise parties! The guest of honor arrives not expecting to find all their friends gathered to yell surprise as they enter the room. 

After Jesus had died on the cross, He was placed in a tomb with a big stone rolled over the entrance. No one was expecting the surprise that was coming next. Three days later Jesus rose again. Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James, bought spices to anoint Jesus’ body. As they got to the tomb, they saw that the huge stone had been rolled away. This was the biggest surprise of all, they didn’t expect that the tomb would be empty! More of a surprise than any surprise party ever was or ever would be. Their friend Jesus, their Saviour, was alive!
