Undeserved

Has someone’s kindness ever annoyed you? It sounds almost wrong, but consider it for a moment. Has anyone ever been so nice to you, so genuinely kind that you wondered, What’s your angle? 

Maybe they did have one. Maybe you discovered that after the fact. Or maybe you came to realize that their kindness had nothing attached to it. 

Now let this truth sink in: You and I could never earn or deserve God’s love.

For some, that statement may bring a sense of great relief. For others, agitation. But no matter what you feel, the reality is we can all struggle to believe that God really loves us for who we are and nothing more. That despite our flaws and failures, His love remains.

But it’s the truth. And He doesn’t have an angle. He is kind and loving because that’s who He is.
