His foundation is on the holy mountains. Yahweh loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

You have been present with Your people from the beginning, oh, Lord! We remember the crown of significance You laid upon Jerusalem’s head when You chose to dwell with Your people there. Indeed, every believer’s birthright is found in Jesus through all He did in that sacred place! We can’t wait for the day when people from every nation will come to Jerusalem, the center of Your kingdom. All will eagerly arrive with worship, with gratitude and honor for those who knew You from the start. You will welcome newcomers and old-timers who respond with uncontainable joy! For only in Your Presence, oh God, do we find life. You are our source and sustenance forever.

Application: How are you connecting with others to experience His Presence in community?

Gathering together as followers of Jesus is such a sacred gift. Believers throughout history have cherished meeting with others to share testimonies, to express gratitude and reverence to God with silence and song, and to encourage one another with the Word and through prayer and fellowship. God created us as relational beings and we experience such rich, mutual benefit when we are together. Not being able to be physically present with one another can make this relational connection feel next to impossible. How are you experiencing a more isolated season? Though it might be physically impossible to gather in this season, how are you being intentional to experience God’s presence in community?

Kids tip: Ask the kids which friends they might be missing during this season. What do they miss about being with these friends? Share with them the ways you find encouragement in community. Brainstorm some ways in which they might connect with others during this time.
