Is Your God Too Nice?Uzorak
Our Nice God keeps us safe and snug in our comfort zone. So many of us have satisfied ourselves with a belief in God—that is enough. I think of James’ admonition: “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder” (Jas. 2:19). But do we shudder? Are we afraid of our God? Probably not. Yet we should be. Once we project Nice God on the backdrop of the universe, we comfort ourselves in one stroke and think our duty is done. Nothing else bothers us; we’re in good shape. We don’t need a thing. And yet in that moment the One whose eyes are like a flame of fire says on His throne: “You do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked” (Rev. 3:17). Friends, our tepid, lukewarm devotion to the God of the Bible makes Him sick, and He is ready to spit us out of His mouth.
I hope this devotional will make a definite difference in people. Good people. Nice people. Not-so-nice people. Because I want to stir you up, not play into any part of your comfort zone. Nice isn’t good enough.
We need a fearless, rugged commitment to the God of the Bible for which we are prepared to die.

O ovom planu
This 3-Day reading plan will bring you back to the God of the Bible. Not the God we like or the way we wish He were, but the very God of the Bible—unembellished, unvarnished—as He really is.
